Public Scholarship

From the introduction…

Many of my classes worked on projects that were public-facing and shared within Carleton or with the greater Northfield community. I had many opportunities to work on skills like statistical analysis, digital exhibitions, oral histories and interviews, and digital archives.

Foundations of Modern Europe taught me to conceptualize and visualize themes, story arcs, and arguments.

Historians for Hire introduced me to many concepts that I used and taught to others, such as oral histories and metadata image descriptions.

… to production.

Many upper level courses allowed me to critically examine the relationship between academic institutions and the public. Throughout my time at Carleton, I gotten to produce public work or share my thoughts about public scholarship. See below for examples.
